This is an alternative to the Ni-cad 6 cell pack

ABB robots sometimes have 3 or 5 cell lithium SMB batteries fitted which have a longer life when the robot is left on all the time- 5 years instead of 3 years, but they do not last as long if the robot is turned off at night or weekends for example.
